We show you how learning to drive safely can be a pleasure, not a task.
From the moment you join us, whether it is your first ever experience behind the wheel or you are a full licence holder that just needs
to brush up on your driving skills or need to rebuild your confidence, here at I.D.A., our intention is that you enjoy the experience.
You will leave us with the confidence and skills it takes to safely drive on today’s roads.

Courses are structured to the individual. Some may find learning easier than others but our promise to you is that with patience and sometimes perseverance,
we will find the safe driver within you, you undoubtedly could become.
Please Note: The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) suggests the average tuition necessary to bring you to Driving Test standard is 40 hours if you have limited or no driving experience.

The Journey to Becoming a Safe Driver

You don’t have to pass the Theory & Hazard Perception Test before you start your lessons but it is a good idea to do it at the earliest opportunity.
This will help you understand the skills needed to become a safe driver on today’s demanding roads. I.D.A will help you prepare for this test if you want us to.
Remember that having passed this Test, it is valid for 2 years, plenty of time to pass your Practical Driving Test.
Continuity of driving lessons is an important factor.
This may be 1 or 2 lessons a week over a period of 4 to 6 months or alternatively you may wish to do more hours a week in order
to reach the standard sooner. Intensive Driving Courses are available (7 to 10 days) but this is not recommended for novice drivers.
I.D.A. may be able to teach a novice driver to pass a test in this time but it isn’t long enough for you to digest the necessary knowledge to become a safe driver.
After you pass your Driving Test, you may wish to undertake additional training. The PassPlus Course has 6 modules to cover including Motorways.
This will be explained to you in more detail at a later date.
There is no test to take for PassPlus but the Certificate you receive is recognised by a lot of insurance companies and you may be rewarded by discounted premiums.
